About Us

Our program

The Osceola Overdrive 18U Softball Team is our premier fastpitch program, designed for athletes who are serious about competing at the next level. Based in Osceola County, Florida, our 18U team focuses on:

  • Elite Competition – Competing in top-tier tournaments across Florida and the Southeast to challenge our players against the best.

  • College Exposure – Maximizing visibility to college recruiters, helping athletes secure athletic scholarships and continue their careers at the collegiate level.

  • Player Development – Strengthening discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship while refining advanced softball skills.

Since 2005, Overdrive athletes have gone on to play college softball on scholarship, continuing the proud tradition of excellence that began with our first teams.

Coach Keith

Coach Keith Pereira brings more than 40 years of coaching, officiating, and player development experience to the Osceola Overdrive program. A native of Savan St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, Coach Keith began coaching in 1983 and has dedicated his career to developing athletes, mentoring coaches, and growing the game of softball at every level.

Throughout his distinguished career, Coach Keith has coached recreation, high school, and elite travel softball, helping hundreds of athletes earn opportunities to play collegiate softball, including at NCAA Division I, Division II, Division III, and junior college (JUCO) programs. His passion for teaching extends beyond his own teams, having hosted hundreds of youth softball clinics throughout Florida while positively impacting thousands of young athletes.

In addition to his coaching accomplishments, Coach Keith is one of the sport’s most respected officials. He serves as an umpire at the NCAA Division I, Division II, and Division III levels, while also officiating JUCO, high school, USSSA, USA Softball, and travel ball competitions. A certified softball clinician, he is also a high school umpire trainer and evaluator and conducts annual training programs for USSSA umpires, helping develop the next generation of officials across the state.

Known for his energetic coaching style and emphasis on fundamentals, Coach Keith creates a positive, disciplined environment where athletes are challenged to excel both on and off the field. His coaching philosophy is rooted in hard work, accountability, confidence, and character, preparing players not only for success in softball but for success in life. He believes every athlete deserves to be challenged, supported, and inspired to reach her full potential.

Above all, Coach Keith is a proud father of four daughters and a grandfather. All four of his daughters played softball, and he personally coached each of them through their development, high school careers, and the college recruiting process. His youngest daughter is a Hall of Fame pitcher at Florida A&M University and continues to represent the U.S. Virgin Islands as a member of the national softball team. These personal experiences give Coach Keith a unique understanding of the journey families experience through youth sports and college recruiting.

Whether coaching from the dugout, instructing at clinics, mentoring fellow coaches and officials, or helping athletes pursue their collegiate dreams, Coach Keith’s mission has remained the same since 1983: to develop exceptional softball players while building confident, disciplined, and resilient young women.

Stories

Player Testimonials

I started playing softball at 10 years old and joined Osceola Overdrive the summer before my freshman year. I played all four years with OOD, graduated in 2025, and went on to continue playing college softball at Miami Dade College while getting my degree in pre-nursing. What I love most about OOD is how much the program feels like family and how it pushed me to be my best on and off the field.

– Valeria Rivera

I started taking pitching lessons when I was 9 years old with Coach Keith and practiced with the team until the summer after my freshman year of high school when I officially joined the team and played with them until I graduated high school. I went on to play in college and graduated in 2025 with a bachelors degree in psychology. My favorite things about playing for OOD was the familial environment on the team and how well the coaches prepared me to play at the collegiate level. Even after I graduated high school they still allowed me to come back and practice and play with them during the summers so I could keep bettering myself as an athlete.
